What I really enjoy about coming to work every day is the impact and relationships I have developed with both the residents and the staff.  Finding someone that that they can trust to share their issues with, and someone they can rely on, makes what I do worthwhile.  This is a wonderful place to work, and I see nothing but positive and great things in the future for Friendship Village.

      About Our Company

Trousdale Living Communities (TLC) is the realization of Tom Johnson’s long-time vision. Tom’s career in Long-Term Care began in 1975, coinciding with the birth of his daughter Sarah, who has Down Syndrome. This led Tom and his wife Judy, a Registered Nurse, to recognize the similarities between caring for seniors in a Long-Term Care setting and individuals with intellectual disabilities. They believed that the best way to provide Long-Term Care was through a nonprofit model. In 1990, Tom became the Chairman/President of the Trousdale Foundation, Inc., a unique dual-purpose nonprofit organization. Starting with one Skilled Nursing Facility and two home health agencies, Trousdale Foundation grew to include more facilities and a Home Health Agency.

By 2018, Trousdale Living Communities (TLC) was established as a nonprofit management company overseeing a group of communities in Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida, and Tennessee. In 2005, Tom and Judy founded the Trousdale School in Tennessee, a post-secondary school for high-functioning adults with intellectual disabilities. Their dedication to improving the lives of their daughter Sarah and seniors has been a lifelong passion. We are committed to delivering our patients and residents exceptional, compassionate care and fostering purpose-filled lives.

Our Vision focuses on People, Purpose, Care and Community.

      People

Serving and caring for our residents is at the heart of our organization. We thrive to be kind and gentle with the needs of our seniors, understanding that this stage in life is a delicate one in so many more ways than one.

      Purpose

We recognize the importance and necessity for our residents to remain mentally and physically active. Empowering and encouraging purpose to their lives is fundamental to our philosophy. We want our seniors to remain active, happy, healthy and as independent as possible, for as long as possible.

      Care

We endeavor to deliver high-quality, compassionate care. Preserving our residents’ dignity in a clean, safe, and trusting environment is at the core of our mission.

      Community

We strive to forge long-lasting relationships and strong ties to the communities we serve. After all, we are the ones taking care of our neighbors’ loved ones and employ their residents.
